About this Manual

This manual provides comprehensive guidelines and step-by-step instructions for working with HaloCORE solutions (Monitor, Block, Protect). Please refer to the "Installation Manual" shipped with the product package for deployment and configuration instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a list of frequently asked questions about the Secude HaloCORE solution. If you do not find the answer you are looking for, please contact your salesperson or email support@secude.com.

GENERAL

  1. What mobile scenarios are supported?
Mobile use must be looked at under two aspects:

    1. Data production (download from SAP): Is supported, if supported front-end technology is used (see separate FAQ about supported GUI technologies)

    2. Data consumption (opening with a client application): This is supported if a compliant client application is available.

    3. HaloCORE does not change the behavior of RMS when accessing files. Therefore, if mobile applications are deployed that support RMS-protected files, these will work with "our" files just as they will with files produced by MS Office.

  2. What other products must be licensed in order to use HaloCORE in the SAP landscape?
Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) must be licensed.

  3. What are the supported SIEM systems?
The HaloCORE audit log can be forwarded automatically to all kinds of SIEM solutions, like Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Splunk, RSA, etc.

  4. What are the supported log formats?
Common event format (CEF), Log event extended format (LEEF) & JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).

SAP ADD-ON

  1. Is your SAP Add-On certified by SAP?
The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that HaloCORE integrates with SAP S/4HANA using standard integration technologies.

  2. Which UI technologies does the Add-On support?
    At this time, HaloCORE supports:

    1. SAP GUI for Windows

    2. SAP GUI for Java

    3. SAP GUI for HTML

    4. Web Dynpro ABAP (WDA, also includes WDA through Enterprise Portal)

    5. NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC)

    6. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Web UI

    7. Business Server Pages (BSP)

    8. Fiori/UI5

  3. What happens with the HaloCORE Add-On installation when performing SAP updates/patches on the SAP AS?

    1. What happens with the HaloCORE enhancements?

    2. What happens with the GUI_DOWNLOAD modifications?

The same happens as with any other enhancements or modifications—SPAU needs to be processed. Between 7.01 and 7.40 there aren't any changes to SAP standard that would require changes to the HaloCORE plug-in, so the SPAU processing is limited to the click of a button ("Confirm modification"). Check back on future releases.

  4. Can you uninstall HaloCORE ?
Yes, the HaloCORE Add-On can be uninstalled. Please be aware that uninstalling the Add-On will also delete all data in the HaloCORE database tables (including the log).

  5. Is it possible to implement HaloCORE PROTECT alone without implementing the other HaloCORE modules?
Monitor is a prerequisite on which Protect and Block function. Thus, Protect cannot function without Monitor. However, it does not require the installation of Block to function as these two modules function independently, but in parallel, depending upon the user’s requirement.

  6. Does HaloCORE support custom programs and custom transaction codes (z tcodes)
Yes. You can monitor, block, or protect downloads out of any custom program or transaction.
